JOIN US FOR THE 6TH ANNUAL WALK IN THE SPIRIT OF RECONCILIATION!

This year's walk will again be self guided. Maps will be provided and you can walk at whatever time works best for you on one or more of the 3 event days. We hope you will join for any/all of the days as we walk as individuals or in our family groups in lament and solidarity of our First Nations brothers and sisters, remembering the traumatic harm done by residential schools for so many generations. As anyone of our human family have been affected, we are all affected.

COVID | We will be following all BC Health regulations to prevent the spread of Covid-19. We will inform you if the Reconciliation Walk event is cancelled due to more strict restrictions. Please follow social distancing guidelines while participating, allowing 2 metres between other people or small groups of walkers. You may want to bring or wear a mask and have hand sanitizer with you.

T-SHIRTS | We will also be providing a free event t-shirt for new walkers and those who didn't receive one last year. You can register your size and choose the location you will pick it up at. If you still have your Reconciliation Walk event t-shirt from last year, please use it again this year. (We didn't include a date on the t-shirt so it could be worn for the future walks.)

INDIGENOUS RESOURCES | We will post Indigenous information, stories and videos on the Facebook event page throughout the week prior to the walk for you to read or watch before and during the Walk weekend.

PHOTOS AND VIDEOS | We are asking walk participants (who are willing) to post photos or videos to the Facebook page of them at the beginning and end of their walk or along the way, so we know what sections of the walk have been completed. We look forward to seeing some fun photos posted.

SOLIDARITY WALK | If you don't live in the Fraser Valley area, you can still participate. Register for the event and select Solidarity Walk. Then go for a walk on May 28, 29 or 30 around your neighbourhood, in a park or on a trail. Post picture of your walk so we can see who is walking in different communities across Canada.

The Walk in the Spirit of Reconciliation event is an ecumenical event in partnership with the Christian Reformed Church, Diocese of New Westminster, Langley Mennonite Fellowship Church, Mennonite Church British Columbia, Mennonite Central Committee BC, United Churches of Langley and Willoughby Christian Reformed Church.
